An event in Ni and GeM's past

Ni shivered with the scissors in her hand. The words of her brother raced through her mind.

"I'll go and hold off the guards. Since you aren't so bright, you have to cut off 6 off the wires on the bomb, or the building will explode with you in it!"

Ni felt for the wires. The clock was ticking. From her ears and her special vision that could see vibrations, the clock was at 59 seconds...58...57... Time was runing out...

*snip*

It was very late at night. Guards were laying all across the yard when Ni's twin brother, GeM, was finished.

Suddenly, Ni dashed out of the building. She was exhausted.

"Brother...I...I..."

GeM was worried.

"What's wrong with you? Is it safe to go inside?"

BOOM!

There was a large explosion from the building followed by another, and another.

Even though GeM was blind, he faced the direction of the blaze. Anger was developing on his face. He turned in Ni's direction and in an instant, she was in a head-lock.

"You...you ASS! What is wrong with you!?"

There was no answer, but she was crying.

"I thought I asked a question! ...Did you know how many valuables there were in there!?"

He let go, and he glared at her.

"B-brother...you aren't going to hurt me...are you?"

Ni was frightened. GeM simply smiled.

"No..."

He choked her and slammed her to the ground.

"I could have you KILLED for what you've done!"

The impact was so hard that blood trickled from her mouth and she could barely stay awake.

"I...I'm...so...sorry, Brother...I...just..."

She collapsed. GeM tried to look as if he did not have the slightest sympathy for her. He picked her up bridal style, gave her a kiss and left, with the sound of police, emergency and firetrucks in the air, along with the smell of ashes...
